COVID-19 UPDATES

To our patients,

We hope that you and your family are safe and doing well during this unprecedented crisis, which has brought unimaginable changes to our personal and professional lives. We appreciate your continued trust in us and our practice and wanted to take a moment to update you on the protocols we have put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic to make our facility a safe place for you and our entire staff.

In response to the pandemic, and as directed by Gov. Murphy's orders, we were required to stop all elective procedures on March 17th. We have now been given the green light to once again be able to treat our patients and we look forward to seeing you all again. We have spent the last two months having the office thoroughly cleaned and disinfected from top to bottom to be ready for the "new normal" in treating dental patients. In addition to implementing many new safety practices, we have also updated our equipment to reflect this new standard.

We continue to monitor the most recent recommendations set forth by the ADA, CDC, and OSHA on a daily basis, and in preparing to open the office we are going above and beyond those infection control guidelines.

Our patients and team will be equipped with proper PPE and we are using advanced technology to minimize the risk of any potential community transmission of COVID-19.

The following are some of the new safety and office enhancements we have made:

Screening and Testing

  • Prior to our patients arrival, we will be providing online registration to help minimize unnecessary interactions. We will also reach out via phone to help guide our patients through our new process. In the event of an elderly patient who does not have access or is not comfortable with digital forms, we will have paper forms and provide assistance in the office.

  • All patients will be pre-screened with a questionnaire recommended by the CDC, have their temperature checked with a contactless thermometer, and be given masks and sanitizer as needed. Doctor and staff's temperatures will also be recorded on a daily basis. If any patient or staff member exhibits any signs or symptoms they will be asked to stay home and away from the office until properly tested.

  • Patients are recommended to arrive 5-10 min early prior to their appointment to allow for proper screening. Only the patient will be allowed in the office with the exceptions being an adult requiring assistance or a child under the age of 18 who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

  • Upon calling for an appointment, if a higher risk patient is identified, special accomodations will be arranged.

Engineering

  • We have strategically positioned medical grade air purifiers throughout the office, including all operatories and reception area. All purifers have H13HEPA filters and their purpose is to improve the air quality within the office and add an additional layer of protection constantly replacing the air through these filters every 10-15 minutes.

  • The HVAC systems are used to enhance air quality and we will be changing the filters even more frequently than recommended. All the operatories will be given ample time for air exchange after every use before it is made available for the next patient.

  • Disinfection of our operatories is of the highest importance, and we have implemented a safe and effective system which encompasses judicious use of disinfection wipes, minimizing items on counter tops, and utilizing an effective low volume fogger with hypochlorous solution which will be used in between each patient.

Safety Protocol

  • The office will be continuously cleaned throughout the day with CDC recommended disinfectants. 

  • We will be implementing social distancing within our staff and amongst patients. In an effort to bypass the waiting room all together, we will schedule 30% fewer patients per day. In addition to asking patients to wait in their cars upon arrival, they will be called into the office and immediately escorted into the operatory once we are ready for them.

  • Our front desk is now lined with a full glass partition to promote an area of comfort and safety.

Personal Protective Equipment

  • Our doctors and staff will wear upgraded PPE and we have taken every precaution to ensure safety. In the operatory, our staff will wear an N95 mask, surgical mask, eye protection, hair cover, full face shield, and disposable gowns.

Appointments

  • All patients are scheduled by appointments only. We are allowing greater time between patients to allow for proper social distancing and sanitizing protocols to be carried out effectively and efficiently.
